Measuring is not enough: supplier performance needs consequences
I wrote this as a contribution to a discussion: in supplier performance reviews, the real question is not whether the evaluation is done — it is whether it has any consequence.
If late deliveries continue and action plans are not executed, even the most careful evaluation slowly becomes just a report. If low performance has no commercial price, the score does not change behaviour either.
We cannot manage what we do not measure — but we also cannot change anything by measuring alone. Change begins when evaluation and action are connected.
